HEIC files won't open / convert

We use the heic2any library to decode HEIC in your browser. It works in all modern browsers but is somewhat slow on older devices.

If a HEIC file fails to load: 1. Try in a different browser (Chrome and Edge have best HEIC support). 2. Ensure the file is a real HEIC (not an HEIC-named JPEG — happens sometimes when files are renamed). 3. As a workaround, open the HEIC in macOS Preview and export as JPEG, then use the JPEG.

iPhone tip: Settings → Camera → Formats → "Most Compatible" makes new photos save as JPEG, sidestepping HEIC entirely.
